Action plan for the “La Eléctrica” area, Bayamo Forestry Base Business Unit (Original)

The present work was carried out in the usufruct area "La Eléctrica", of the Bayamo Forestry Base Business Unit, with the objective of elaborating the action plan for its management. To this end, a forest inventory was carried out, using a simple random sampling, with an intensity of 15%, and a significance level of 0.05, through square plots of 10 m x 10 m (100 m2), in which the diameter at 1.30 m and the height were determined. In the area, 17 species of 15 genera and 11 botanical families were reported, being the Meliaceae family, with three species, the largest number. The excessive presence of unplanned logging was identified as the greatest environmental problem, for which an action plan was developed for the forest management of the area, which emphasizes promoting the training of workers, in the appropriate application of silvicultural treatments, and in the development of activities against forest fires, the protection of illicit activities and better planning of forest management.
