Characterization of the Visual Memory of school chess players in Granma (Original)

Abstract

The present investigation was carried out in the EIDE "Pedro Batista" of Granma, we worked with the 5 athletes of twelve years of the school chess team. It was implemented with the objective of characterizing the visual memory of the athletes. To this end, a cross-sectional, descriptive study was carried out; through a mixed research design. In it, the theoretical and methodological foundations of Cognitive Neuropsychology and the Psychological Preparation of the athlete are assumed. Research methods of theoretical and empirical knowledge were used. The results obtained show inadequate performance results of the visual memory component of the executive function of working memory, as well as conserved coefficients of intellectual and attentional performance in 100% of the population.
