Abstract

Sports psychology is a discipline widely used in baseball. This article determined how selective attention and offensive performance are related in players of the Cuban baseball preselection of the under-23 category, who prepared to participate in the Junior Pan American Games of Cali-Valle 2021. To obtain the data related to attentional performance, a software called Grid 1.0 was used, which is a desktop Windows application made under the .NET platform in the C# programming language and with the Visual Studio programming environment. It was found that the selective attention and offensive performance of the hitters under study describe a relationship in which the players find more numbers in the attention test, the greater their offensive performance in the Slugging (SLG) and On Base Plus Slugging (OPS) indicators.
