Educational Conception for Healthy Aging in the community El Río of the Jaruco Municipality. (Original)

This article is the result of a study that was carried out in a community in the Mayabeque Province on the aging process, which aimed to design an educational strategy that favors the development of healthy aging. The use of methods in a systemic way, with a foundation in Marxist-Leninist philosophy emphasizing ethnography, allowed the development of research obtaining viable results in the conditions of Cuba, a determination of current foundations that appear in the bibliography on the object of research that favors your understanding. After an exhaustive diagnosis, the conception was designed and a strategy was drawn up to materialize practical actions that would allow impact on the lifestyles of the community's inhabitants. Tasks such as socialization, consolidation and evaluation workshops were carried out, a postgraduate course was designed, and community participation began in the transformation of their environment. These tasks and others carried out had a positive impact on the lifestyles of the population studied, and made it possible to establish comparisons of the state of health before and after changes in the way of living. The educational conception that was developed and partially put into practice is the result of the author's doctoral thesis and may be an alternative to face the negative consequences of population aging in the medium term, in the solution of a current problem that directly affect in the economic and social life of our country.
