Conditioning of a Variable Real Functions in Mathematic Modeling. (Review)
Keywords:
mathematical model; demand; entry; cost; linear function; quadratic function; cubic functionAbstract
The objective of the present article is to demonstrate conditions and relationships that must be taken into account for selecting a real function of a real variable in the process of mathematical modeling of problem situations in different branches of knowledge, the properties of functions to be delimited are the following: the domain; the image; monotony and extreme values. The modeling work through functions (linear, quadratic and cubic) is articulated with the economic categories of: demand; income and cost, studied in the Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance at the University of Granma, Cuba. The need to attend to the compatibility between the process to be modeled and the mathematical modeling function is weighed, with the use of the analysis and synthesis method.
