Contribution of the Sociodemographic Characterization in the Management of Local Development. (Review)

Research on sociodemographic characterizations in the field of local development has gained relevance over the years, since the term local development began to be used, as well as the ways, strategies and actions to achieve it, because it is important to know the population that is available to implement the respective policies to develop from the local to a certain community currently reality of the community context asserts the need to know and apply demographic positions in the course of local development, however, there are not enough targeting mechanisms to use demographic data based on the development that communities need. The objective of the research is to assess the importance of sociodemographic characterization for the management of local development on a theoretical level. Consequently, with this scientific need, a methodological work was implemented mainly focused on documentary review, in order to update knowledge in around the link between demographic processes and local development. The results indicate the value of sociodemographic data to promote development within communities, as it favors the work of officials and decision-makers who participate in the management and implementation of policies and strategies to accelerate development processes to contribute to the academic framework and interested in the subject.
