Objective: To describe the procedures methodological employees to analyze the incidence of the mass of the legs and the maximum force in the jump Abalakov in a sample of baloncestistas of the position of game forward in the basketball of Holguín. Methods: I study observational, descriptive-correlacional, traverse. They participated 7 baloncestistas (21.3±1.2 years; 83.0±4.1 kg). he/she was considered the mass of the legs by means of antropometría (circumference of the thigh) and ecografía (muscular areas and fat). The maximum force was measured with 1RM in sentadilla. The jump Abalakov was evaluated with contact platform. He/she was carried out an analysis idiográfico (for baloncestista) and nomotético (you correlate, regression, CV%, mín/máx). Results: The total mass of the legs was 29.7±0.9 kg (35.8% of the corporal weight). The relative force showed almost perfect correlation with the height of the jump (r=0.96); and a profile of low yield associated to fatty discharge. Conclusions: The relative force and the fatty composition of legs are the main determinant of the jump. Strategies alternative morfofuncionales exist to reach a high yield. The proposed methodology is valid and applicable in contexts of limited resources.
