The prevention of sexual transmission infections from sports practice in medicine students

Abstract

The present investigation is carried out with the objective of designing a system of instructive - educational activities, to favor the prevention of STIs in the volleyball team of the first year of the Faculty of Medicine in Bayamo, province of Granma. To achieve the objective, a factual diagnosis is made of the problem that is investigated through interviews, and observations of the 15 members of the team and the 2 teachers who train them The results allow us to verify that inappropriate sexual behaviors are perceived that generate the presence of infections of sexual transmission, lack of knowledge by young people about the prevention of STIs and they do not always take advantage of the potentialities of teamwork during the practice of sport and the space of theoretical preparation to carry out health promotion actions from the actions of the teacher sports around the prevention of these diseases. Based on these shortcomings, a system of activities is proposed, which are submitted to the criteria of specialists to assess their feasibility of application.
