Abstract

Sport in Cuba requires significant changes in all categories and levels of the high performance pyramid, in this sense, the thesis presented constitutes the authors' determination in the search for options for the search for enthusiastic managers, with a successful take decision-making and adequate emotional control. An initial study carried out allowed to detect deficiencies in certain aspects that fissure the relationships between coaches and athletes, which resulted in difficulties in empathy, self-control, and decision-making. The analysis of the documents, the observation and the questionnaire were applied as methods and techniques, the percentage analysis, tables and graphs were also used for the analysis of the data collected from the application of the empirical methods and techniques. A population of 6 directors of the baseball teams of the 11-12 year-old and under-15 categories of the Cerro Pelado EIDE was selected. From the application of the instruments, the low level of socio-emotional competencies was detected. To promote their development, a strategy for improvement was presented which undoubtedly benefited the correct management work, based on the performance of a more autonomous and creative manager and with assertive decision-making.
