Abstract

The objective of this article was to examine the specialized literature to systematize the knowledge that this type of training have generated in the last 36 years, since Hickson's (1980) precursive investigation. This review confirms that concurrent endurance and muscular strength training produces improvements in aerobic capacity and endurance performance. We will center the attention in this part in the physiological adaptations to concurrent strength and endurance training.
