Care for the elderly in cuba. A necessity
Keywords:

In the Artemisa Province, as in all of Cuba, different programs are applied that deal with the institutional Prophylactic and Therapeutic Physical Culture process, the institutional one with extension to the community and the community-based one, the latter with a broad approach, to from the development of the widely accessible master’s degree “Physical Activity in the Community”, with more than 80 investigations that addressed this topic. However, the actions of community physical activity professionals are still limited when addressing the new demands and demographic particularities in the care of older adults, in relation to the diagnosis, planning, dosage, evaluation and monitoring of integrated physical exercise. Weaknesses that originate from the conception of the E study plan, the curricular mesh and its particularity in the discipline of Prophylactic and Therapeutic Physical Culture, as these contents are barely addressed. In this sense, a methodological conception is developed that favors the care program for the elderly in terms of the planning and dosage of the class for this age group in a coherent, dynamic, flexible and contextualized manner. For this, scientific methods at a theoretical, empirical and statistical level were used, which made it possible to validate the proposal.
