Abstract

Currently, there are insufficient review articles on Carpal Impaction Syndrome in boxers. The purpose of this study is to clarify this pathology by addressing its concept, etiological factors, clinical picture, complementary tests and its treatment, with rehabilitation playing a determining role. This lesion presents a high incidence and is of vital importance for them. Incorrect diagnosis and treatment cause considerable morbidity, causing very frequent recurrences of the lesion, which prevents training, limits their performance and can, on some occasions, definitively invalidate them for the practice of this sport. Through the analysis of documents, the articles published in impact journals have been studied, searched in different databases as well as books or other printed materials. It is assumed that the biomechanics of execution of the exercises (hitting technique) play an important role in its production, as well as the poor conditions of the means of protection at hand level. It is of vital importance to take measures that reduce, delay or prevent its appearance, playing a very important role in preventive action on the triad of factors that, according to the reviewed bibliography and the author's own considerations, lie in the success of prevention (Hitting technique – Means of protection – Hand and wrist strengthening exercises).
