Abstract

The Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI) have become a complex phenomenon that affects an important number of teenagers and young people harnessed to their psychic and biological immaturity, to reduce their transmission it requires promotion actions and prevention of health, aimed at establishing safe sexual habits and behaviors. The objective of the study was to design an educational strategy to prevent the STI, the investigation had a descriptive, longitudinal and prospective feature, directed to teenagers and youths from the medical clinics No 12, 22 and 35, health area Raúl Sánchez, municipality of Pinar del Río. The identification of learning necessities showed that most teenagers and youth, lack enough knowledge about sex education; a marked unknowledge was evidenced on the STI, among the most known were HIV/AIDS, gonorrhea and syphilis; the transmission way most knowledge for they was a semen, they talk with the friends and the couple about sexuality, and most doesn't use the condom in the sexual relationships, which gets a growing increase of these illnesses in this group of ages, that´s why educational strategic actions were elaborated and applied in the community and the family, contributing to an appropriate and systematic sex education from the bio psychosocial point of view for the enjoyment of a healthy and responsible sexuality.
