Domestic violence in Ndalatando: causes and consequences. (Original)

Abstract

This article comes to comprehend the causes and consequences of the domestic violence in Ndalatando, Cazengo township in Cuanza Norte Province. The population of the study was constituted by 42 people of which 30 were interviewed in the installations of the Center of Family Advisement of the actual Provincial Cabinet of Social Action, Family and Equality of genre and other 12 in the Superior Pedagogic School of Kwanza Norte (SPSKN).

The present study is covered of capital importance, for the need to understand in a clear and effective way the causes and consequences of the domestic violence in the Angolan context in general, and particularly in Ndalatando. Like this, we thought that analyzing in careful way the causes of the domestic violence, we will be in better conditions for hereafter to propose strategic measures of prevention of the same at local level and, in the country in general, decreasing their devastating consequences to the Angolan families.

The theoretical reference was sustained majority by the Walker model for being the best frame in the psycho-effective paradigm of the relationships of marital relationship, and to the ecologic model of the crime. Among the causes of the domestic violence, they stand out the jealousy, the mutual conjugal infidelity, the unemployment, the lack of talking, the lack of financial resources, and the consumption of alcohol, among other. As a consequence, the domestic violence destroy the families, it creates the diminution of the affect in the family breast and serious psychological consequences.
