Abstract

This research describes the factors that influence the performance of users of the State Technical University of Quevedo (UTEQ) in the use of the SIIES platform (Comprehensive Information System of Higher Education in Ecuador), which has generated important information for both the external and internal environment of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), in order to identify opportunities for improvement. An exploratory study was carried out for the analysis of the mean values, the Bayesian Naive classifying algorithm implemented using the WEKA version 3.8 software was used to obtain a qualitative assessment regarding the opinions of the users. For the university institution, the total management of the information in the process of review and gathering of the information is vital, constituting the quality of the information one of the main determinants of user satisfaction because it establishes a basic support to achieve the mission and the educational objectives in an environment characterized by disruptive processes. On the other hand, planning, data source and security are considered as issues of great relevance in the information systems of higher education institutions.
