Abstract

The Cuban Higher Education demands of the formation of competent and capable professionals that respond to the demands from a model of modern, scientific, innovative and committed university to the transformation of the Cuban, characteristic society that they allow to the graduate one to act in wide profiles of careers. One of the main bases of the design of the Plan of Study E it is the essentiality of the contents; however, it is mainly an aspect that lacks still conceptualization and vigor to systematize it in the educational practice, in the subjects of literatures, where the critic and the literary theory, due to the great amount of contents, it hinders the way in how the university professor identifies what contents to teach and what contents to orient. This situation has been discussion object in the methodological meetings, because due to this pandemic situation, the literary contents have had to be adjusted before the new circumstances. So the work has an objective to approach the essentiality of the contents in the Discipline Literary Studies, of the career Degree in Education, Spanish - Literature, of the University of Pedagogic Sciences Enrique José Varona.
