The current moments are characterized by a breakthrough in science and technology, in these circumstances the students of this generation urgently require that the school meet their own interests and motivations of the digital age; It is necessary that teachers give them a leading role in the learning process; and for this it is essential that they rely on active methodologies. In the Educational Unit "La Inmaculada" of Latacunga, the didactic performance of the teachers is not in synergy with the educational demands of the time, didactic strategies of the behavioral model that constrain the development of skills and abilities are still valid. From this perspective, the objective of this study is to address the pedagogical and conceptual foundations of active methodologies to guide the management of the teacher in the teaching process. The results of this research will allow conclusions to be drawn and in the future to outline an intervention proposal that will make a radical change to the teaching work in the classroom.
