During the months of June to November 2018, the investigation was carried out on the banks of the Cunene River in the Commune of Xangongo, to evaluate the response of the local variety of Sorghum bicolor red to organic and mineral fertilization, in texture sandy soil low fertility and its preparation was carried out with pitchfork and hoe, furrows separated at 0,70 m and 0,15 m between plants were formed. The treatments used were: T1 (organic fertilization: bovine manure 20 t.ha-1), T2 (organic fertilization: goat manure 20 t.ha-1), T3 (mineral fertilization: formula 24-12-24 at 0,75 t.ha-1 and second fertilization based on urea 46% N of 50 kg.ha-1) 30 days after germination. A completely randomized experimental design was used, with three treatments and five repetitions in plots of 44,8 m2. The variables were evaluated: emission of the flag leaf (days), diameter and length of the flag leaf (cm), number of leaves and nodes per plant, height and diameter of the plants (cm), panicle length (cm), number of ears and seeds per panicle, mass of 100 seeds (g) and grain yield t.ha-1. The results were processed using the statistical package (InfoStat) and Duncan's test for p≤0.05. An economic valuation of the treatments used was carried out treatment T3 (mineral fertilization: formula 24-12-24 at 0,75 t.ha-1 and second fertilization based on urea 46% N of 50 kg.ha-1), responded with the best results for the phenological indicators, productive and economic, with a profit of 398 100.00 Kz.ha.
