From the implementation of the Policy for the Improvement of the Teaching of English in Cuban universities, teachers take on a new challenge. The highest aspiration is to ensure that each graduate can understand and express himself in social and professional communication environments in English. This work aims to present the impact of the application of participatory techniques to strengthen the teaching-learning process in a creative way in university students. Language acquisition should take place in a comfortable environment, when students have fun the learning process is positive, spontaneous and natural. The implementation of participatory techniques stimulates student participation and favors interaction between them. The social nature of participatory techniques offers students the opportunity to communicate from real life situations. It is important to note that the teacher must select the appropriate technique in correspondence with the specific characteristics of his students, the objective and material conditions in which the process takes place, the topics and the objectives that are pursued. On the other hand, the knowledge, experience, skill and creativity of the teacher greatly influence the result of its application.
