Abstract

The psychological preparation is one of the fundamental components for the training of the athlete, it guarantees self-control and security in the execution of the different skills; It is a pedagogical process, the purpose of which is to prepare you in conditions that allow you to demonstrate your best performance at the time of the competition. Its study within the sports field is of great importance to guarantee the quality of the learning of mental abilities. Among the disciplines that require high-order cognitive skills and have positive effects on cognitive development is Chess. It places great demands on its practitioners from the psychic point of view and that is why, from the beginning of the chess player's preparation, this type of preparation must be attended to.
