The family is considered the first and most important socializing system in the integral development of people at an individual and social level. At the individual level, it enables the satisfaction of basic needs: biological and psycho-affective. In the social sphere, it molds the first bases of the personality that forms part of the subject's identity, which evolves as it comes into contact with other individuals in different contexts and situations. For children, it is the group in which a strong sense of belonging is identified and developed, and where they face and try to solve in close coexistence the problems of daily life. In the educational practice it was found that in the families of the school children of the Fernando Chenard Piña primary school in the municipality of Holguín there is insufficient preparation to face the entrance of their sons and daughters to school. As a solution to the problems detected, an orientation program is proposed that offers tools to face this normative crisis typical of the family life cycle. The population includes families with sons and daughters who start the school stage in the educational institution where the research is carried out.
