The article offers a system of activities centered on the principle of educational integration for environmental protection. This promotes student agency in a developing teaching-learning process that enables the acquisition of knowledge and develops critical and reflective observation of environmental problems. This system integrates manual work and the development of communication skills. It addresses the potential of the fourth-grade primary school subject, The World We Live In, for the environmental education of students from the earliest grades onward. It reveals the possibility of creating healthy environments in rural communities so that educational work transcends traditional frameworks for environmental education. The actions developed generated a healthy environment throughout the community. The methods used allowed for the resumption of local practice strategies to mitigate local environmental problems by integrating community stakeholders and agencies, strengthening the role of students and the educational institution in environmental education with an equitable and ethical approach for sustainable development.
