Comprehensive educational intervention for schoolchildren with ataxia in inclusive contexts (Original)

Spinocerebellar ataxia Type 2 (SCA2) constitutes a health problem in Cuba, particularly in Holguínprovince, as it concentrates the largest number of sick and at-risk population worldwide. Consequently, the problem under investigation lies in the insufficient preparation of teachers and managers to direct the educational care of schoolchildren with a history of ataxia in inclusive contexts. Central objective of this study consists of the elaboration of a set of educational and extra-educational activities that contributes to the correction of dysarthria by SCA2, and the development of other areas of human development that may be affected by its ocurrence. The use of theoretical and empirical methods, in their dialectical relationship, allowed to determine the regularities that are manifested in the language and motor skills of schoolchildren with a history of SCA2, and to verify the feasibility of the proposal in the scope of educational practice.
