Strategy for the selection of talents in the basketball, category cantonal league of milagro (Origimal)

Abstract

Currently, the selection of talents continues to be one of the most important aspects in the sports field. There is a great volume of information, many of them contradictory, that is why it is fundamental to direct this process, so that it contributes to the development and success in the sport. A cross-sectional descriptive study was carried out, with the purpose of designing a strategy for the selection of talents in the pre-juvenile basketball category of the sports league, canton Miracle. Population: 50 basketball players, represents 100% of the universe, in the ages of 10 to 12 pre-juvenile category, with informed consent to participate in the study, in the period September 2018-September 2019. The data was analyzed by techniques of descriptive statistics: distribution of frequencies, the SPSS Program version 22.0 was used. Through different applied instruments, limitations were detected in the theoretical-methodological and practical order in the process of selection of sports talents in the basketball of the Cantonal League of Miracles, situation that demanded the design of a strategy based on a greater efficiency of this process; organized in three key results areas: Preparation for Selection, Evaluation of players and Selection of talents.
