Abstract

The hammer throw is a track and field discipline that has evolved in its technical preparation process in recent years. The technical execution patterns have been modified, making the movements easier to learn. This research stems from the need to improve the hammer throw technique in 15-16-year-old athletes at the Sport Basic Formation School in Pinar del Rio province. The purpose of this research was to develop exercises that refine the lateral hammer throw technique in these athletes. Various theoretical, empirical, and statistical methods were used in this research, including document analysis, observation, and measurement. The research was conducted to address the difficulties in the technical execution of the lateral hammer throw, which, during the athletes' competition preparation process, requires contextualization of the methodological approach. The research provides a set of exercises as a solution for each of the identified limitations, which will facilitate the improvement of the throwing technique in the athletes studied.
