Abstract

Project Based Learning is an emerging methodology that is increasingly used in classrooms resulting in the motivation and self-esteem of students and enhancing research and collaboration in the development of learning. The objective of the study is to conduct a systematic review of the benefits of Project Based Learning in education. The research methodology developed was a literature review including reliable databases such as Dialnet, Scielo, Redalyc, Scopus, Sport Discus and Web of Science, using keywords such as: Project Based Learning, Methodologies and Learning. Among the main results of using Project Based Learning is the change in the role of the student as the main actor in the construction of his own knowledge. It is concluded that students learn in a contextualized way since they solve real problems, collaborative work is encouraged where there is a space to share with their peers in a harmonious climate achieving an authentic learning. Likewise, the use of Information and Communication Technologies is encouraged in the learning process.
