Games to reduce the chances of falls due to loss of balance in older adults

This work proposes "Games to reduce the chances of falls due to loss of balance in older adults." In this context, it acquires relevance, as it constitutes a way to increase their quality and life expectancy. Some research has been developed that addresses issues related to activities to increase the motivation of the elderly towards the practice of physical recreational activities; to improve the quality of life of the elderly. As well as, an adapted sports game program that allows increasing the participation of older adults in activities. However, their proposals do not include the ways to avoid accidents resulting from loss of balance. In solving the problem, various theoretical, empirical and statistical-mathematical methods were used, including: analysis-synthesis, hermeneutic-dialectical and systemic-structural-functional, documentary analysis, the criteria of experts, the interview and the percentage calculation. As a result, recognizing that balance is decisive in the chances of accidents such as falls in the elderly; the importance of games to improve or maintain this physical capacity, as well as to reduce the loss of this physical capacity.
