Preventive measures for the mitigation and control of the epidemic caused by the SARS-CoV2 virus (COVID-19) – recognized in Mexico as serious and priority care, since March 2020, by the General Health Council – were diverse; such as: the suspension of classes, the closure of recreational centers, the call to confinement of the population, among others. In the latter there was a personal and social impact, as it feels affected, and assumed different roles from confinement: some feel supportive; assets, and so many others, liabilities, etc. Undoubtedly, one of the sectors of the population hardest hit by changing habits is adolescents; who, by nature, find themselves in the search for mobilization outside the family, turning their motivation, free time and activities dependent on friendship relationships as a source for their well-being. Therefore, this study was designed with an explanatory-descriptive, non-experimental approach. The sample was selected probabilistically, consisting of 444 adolescents between the age of 10 and 17; with the aim of analyzing the free time and recreational activities carried out by this age group, in Mexico, during the confinement by COVID-19.
