Literary Works, a didactic tool in preschoolers’ appreciation of beauty

Abstract

The research relies on the gaps that 6th year preschoolers present in the degree of appreciation of the beauty in their local environment, what limits child’s integral development. This phenomenon can be seen when children are not able to make a distinction between the beauty and the ugliness in the environment, showing emotions or feelings with an aesthetic vision, what means that they cannot find the beauty in the ugliness. That is why, we have chosen the following scientific problem: How to contribute to the preschoolers’ appreciation of beauty in local environment from the view of Education and Aesthetical Development? The purpose is to create educational activities that help improve the appreciation and transformation of beauty in local environment in 6^th year preschoolers from Félix Bravo kindergarten in the municipality of Santiago de Cuba. Certain scientific methods have been used such as the theoretical, the empirical and the mathematic-statistical methods. The educational activities were elaborated and put into practice, what provided children with an aesthetical vision in the appreciation of beauty and ugliness in their social environment and that enhances the child’s integral development.
