Abstract

With the objective of evaluating the labor practice as a mode of action of the Veterinary Doctor and the main values ​​acquired, the work was developed. The use of descriptive research was used, field research was required through the work practice developed in the month of February 2022 by the 2nd year students of the Veterinary Medicine career of the University of Granma of the eastern provinces, Cuba. In order to know the evaluations of the students on the acquired experiences, a mixed questionnaire was applied. 95% of the students valued the labor practice as excellent or very good, the contents of the practices allow developing skills in the management of productive and affective species of interest (89%), interacting with production professionals contributed to the training professional (100%), contributed the labor practice guide to professional development and to complete tasks of observation, registration, use of technical vocabulary and writing of the final report (98%). The students recognize as acquired values ​​Industriousness and professionalism (95%), love of the profession (100%) Honesty and trustworthiness (90%). Responsibility (99%) and professional ethics (94%) also identified animal welfare (80%). The perceptions of the students are information of great value when designing strategies aimed at the comprehensive training of future professionals.
