Software to improve learning about metals and its effects in the human health

Abstract

The knowledge of metals is a topic of great importance in high school students. This is precisely the topic addressed in this research. It was selected from certain shortcomings presented by the eleventh-grade students regarding the study of metals, both in basic aspects such as its physical-chemical properties as well as its effect on human health. During the research process, different theoretical, empirical and statistical methods were used that made possible both the empirical inquiries on the subject, as well as the methodological procedure to follow and the valuation of the data obtained in the different moments of the investigation. The result achieved with the multimedia demonstrated its effectiveness, since the students broadened their investigative level and deepened their knowledge on this topic. This was possible from the application of a multimedia, as a way to deepen the content.
