Ozone therapy is one of the types of alternative therapies, which focuses on healing through the use of the application of this element. The history of ozone therapy begins in Germany. Later, it was the Russians who accelerated the investigations of this new medicine and transferred the knowledge to the allied countries. Ozone therapy is extremely effective, simple in its applications and perfectly tolerated. Ozone acts as an antioxidant, immunomodulatory, also increases the release of oxygen generating a greater transport of oxygen to the cells, improving cell function and circulation in general, and it is also a powerful germicide: it eliminates fungi, bacteria and viruses. This set of benefits means that the therapeutic applications are also many and for different diseases. From carcinomas, cerebral sclerosis and Parkinson’s, to cystitis, circulatory disorders, liver cirrhosis, hepatitis and gallbladder diseases. Given its growing use and proven benefits, it was decided to carry out a review in both national and foreign networks, where 20 bibliographies were consulted in order to show some characteristics that support the use of ozone therapies in the treatment of numerous conditions.
