The environmental dimension in the Cuban constitutions

Abstract

Since the appearance of Homo sapiens until today, man has maintained an intimate relationship with nature to satisfy his needs, a relationship that went from total dependence to a position of power over it, and evolved from the blindest mystification in ages immemorial to the most brutal predation characteristic of our days. To counteract these harmful effects on the environment exerted by human beings, various environmental protection mechanisms are used. One of the most important mechanisms for protecting the environment of a country is through its constitution, or constitution of the republic; In Cuba there was not always a state concern for the environment that surrounds us, that is why this research, the result of extracurricular work, aims to take a tour of the different constitutions that were promulgated in the territory to date, to corroborate and to compare how the environmental dimension has behaved in Cuban constitutionalism, a result that contributes a theoretical systematization to the development of Legal Sciences. Scientific methods such as systematization, document and content analysis were used for its formation, which made it possible to fulfill the proposed objective.
