Abstract

Organic Chemistry is one of the basic subjects in the study plan of the Forest Engineering career. One of its fundamental themes is the study of phenols and polyphenols. Their structures, classification, physical and chemical properties and applications are studied, which are of great importance for the forestry engineer, so this work aims to know the characteristics and application of these substances as fundamental elements in the preparation of the future professional of this branch. The theoretical review of this content allows us to know its importance for forestry in the provision of environmental services, including more diversified and sustainable agricultural production
