The development of cartographic abilities in the scholar of Sixth Grade of the Primary Education

The presented work constitutes a result of the systematization of knowledge accomplished by the authoress in the running during his 5 years of studies; present work responds to latent problems in elementary schools related with the formation and development of abilities in the study of Nature and specifically, the ones that linked to the cartographic work that constitutes a priority in the teaching-learning process of Geography. This paper has as essential goal the modelation of exercises that
favours essential abilities of Geography, specifically the reading of maps, which constitutes the object of work from 4th Grade; methods of the empiric and theoretical level and mathematical were used to accomplish theoretic foundation and modelation of exercises in the different variants of the reading of the maps. The carried-out work has a great importance taking into account its contribution to enhance the teaching-learning process of Geography.
