Abstract

The origin of auriculotherapy as practiced today began in the 50s following the investigations of Paul Nogier (1950). The most widespread Auriculotherapy uses the fundamentals of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture, in addition to Nogier's work for both diagnosis and point selection and treatment. This does not mean that they are two antagonistic schools, since Chinese Medicine is an inclusive medical system which allows the integration of new discoveries in a coherent way to the system. This paper deals with the meaning of Auriculotherapy, the ear as a microsystem and its use to treat common pathologies with the aim of deepening the location of Auriculotherapy points frequently used in everyday life and its effects to improve our training as Basic General Physician.
