Broadband access network for the local development (Original)

Abstract

The research aim is to expose the main characteristics about of the broadband access networks that contribute to the process of computerization of society, key activity for the local development. Through the broadband services, it is guided the citizen participation and digital information management by the local government, in pursuit of the endogenous local development. Theoretical references related to the local development and broadband networks were analyzed. The relationship between broadband access technology, services and the dimensions of development was established. As result of the research, was determined that the development local with the Information and Communication Technologies application by means of the broadband, is an important factor in the progress socioeconomic of the territory. In addition, the broadband is a platform for contributing to solve the needs of telecommunication services in the region. In general, the overcrowding of the broadband services will generate economic, sociocultural and political transformations to improvement of the population life quality.
