Management of interinstitutional agreements and educational quality: an exploratory assessment at the Catholic University of Santo Domingo

The objective is to characterize the current state of inter-institutional agreement management at the Catholic University of Santo Domingo (UCSD) and its relationship to the potential use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance educational quality, from cognitive, instrumental, and attitudinal perspectives. This is an exploratory-descriptive study with a mixed-methods approach and a purposive sample of 12 stakeholders involved in agreement management. A survey using a Likert scale and an open-ended question was administered and analyzed using descriptive statistics and thematic content analysis. The results reveal a gap between intent and operational capacity. The polarization of opinions suggests a lack of shared institutional vision. The participants’ suggestions (automatic classifiers) validate the relevance of incorporating AI. It was concluded that there is a favorable attitude toward AI, but there are critical shortcomings in the assessment.
