Abstract

Going into the study of cutaneous leishmaniasis allows to know in depth the variety of phlebotomine that cause this contagious disease, mainly in rural areas, which is characterized by severe skin lesions due to ulcers that, although they disappear spontaneously, leave a scar great relevance for life. The prevention process constitutes in this case the main pillar for the prophylaxis against this disease, which implies the integrated participation of the personnel of the health institutions, the entities responsible for the sanitation and sanitation of the community and the family as a card where it falls such consequences. The approach of integrating and articulated strategies among these social agents envisages an approach to the decrease in the appearance of cases by the routes of sting, infected animals and by travelers and immigrants who are carriers of the disease from actions of protection, promotion and prevention, determining factor for the improvement of the health and the quality of life of the inhabitants.
