Abstract

Currently, sedentary behaviors constitute the fourth cause of death in the world according to the WHO in 2018. This scourge is increasingly observed in university students, due to the changes that have occurred in this stage of life. Increasing levels of physical activity and raising awareness of its health benefits is currently a challenge, in order to reduce the sequelae associated with a sedentary lifestyle. This research was carried out on the Isla de la Juventud with accounting and finance students from the JesúsMontanéOropesa University, with the aim of determining the current state of motor physical performance and the manifestations that make up sedentary behavior. of the second year students of the accounting and finance career in this Pinero Higher Education center, obtaining as a result the real state of the physical motor performance of these students, taking the Physical Efficiency tests as a reference. The manifestations that make up the sedentary behavior in the investigated subjects were also determined, based on the activities carried out in their daily routine, which in turn allows to improve and prevent long-term ailments associated with physical inactivity.
