The identification of psychological potentialities for the learning of chess in children (Original)

Abstract

Insufficiencies detected in the talent selection process in the sport of chess led to the development of the present study, which is aimed at determining the insufficiencies in the identification of potentialities for learning chess in children, for this the specialized criterion was taken into account of athletes of various categories, coaches and sport managers at the provincial level. For the development of the study, methods and techniques were used in the theoretical and empirical order, as is the case of the systemic-structural-functional, analytical-synthetic, interview, survey, methodological triangulation and descriptive statistics, for the validation of the proposal we had take into account the criteria of specialists. The results allowed to verify a limited conception about the potentialities for learning chess, since it is not conceived as a coherent system in which certain psychic predispositions of the personality, the biological and the social are articulated in unity with the cognitive and affective.
